Tasting Notes

A noble wine, starting with the colour, a garnet red with lots of orangey nuances, bright and luminous. The nose is immediately filled with clean fruity and spicy scents: all very elegant, fine and clear cut. When we move on to taste the wine, we are overwhelmed by an incisive, austere mouthfeel with tight tannins and an absolutely outstanding finish.

Pairing

A wine to serve with succulent, grilled meats, and medium mature cheeses. At the same time, it is a wine to sip while meditating or to enjoy at the end of a meal.

Barolo Broglio Riserva DOCG 2008 - Schiavenza: Why we like it

This is a Reserve, a wine which spends at least five years in large Slavonian oak barrels. The link with the younger Barolo Briglio is immediately recognisable. Here too, all the traditionalist soul is evident, thanks to both vinification and ageing. The flavour of tradition in the glass and the nobility of the "king of wines" emerge forcefully and immediately. Schiavenza's Barolo Broglio Riserva DOCG is a wine not to be missed, to remain within the sphere of tradition and the classicism of Barolo.
