Tasting Notes

Ruby red with garnet highlights. Excellent bouquet consisting of notes of cherry, blackberry and plum, with clear scents of spices like cinnamon, cloves and black pepper. Soft tannins in the mouth merge perfectly with a certain acidity, a sensation which conveys freshness before an impeccably elegant and persistent finish.

Pairing

With all courses of a meal, it goes particularly well with red meat dishes and medium-mature or mature cheeses. It is also a delightful accompaniment to conversation at the end of a meal.

Barolo Paiagallo DOCG 2010 - Mirafiore: Why we like it

A grand cru from the municipality of Barolo, with amazing integrity, while being capable of offering great emotions also many years after the harvest. A product of the meticulous selection of grapes, this red is vinified traditionally, in steel tanks, and then left to age in barriques for about a year. After this first phase, Mirafiore's Barolo Paiagallo DOCG 2010 is transferred into large Allier oak barrels, where it continues ageing for another year. Permanence in medium-small oak barrels allows the perfection of a tannic structure without increasing an excessive woody sensation and, at the same time, obtaining the right balance between the aroma of the grapes and that of the wood. The result is a Barolo of excellent finesse, long and elegant, full of seductive references to the very long tradition of the finest Barolo of Fontanafredda.
