Tasting Notes

Deep ruby red with purple highlights. The bouquet is characterised by aromas of ripe red fruit, spicy notes, balsamic scents and nuances of liquorice, chocolate and tobacco. Impressive structure on the palate. It is open, warm and enveloping, characterised by tannins that are evident but soft and evolved. Long and persistent finish.

Pairing

Torre dei Beati's Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC “Cocciapazza” pairs well with important roast red meat mains, or with game.

Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC “Cocciapazza” 2012 - Torre dei Beati: Why we like it

The wine is named after the area where the Montepulciano vineyards of the Torre dei Beati estate are planted. The grapes are harvested only in the part of the vineyard that allows the production of mature and structured wines. Vinification takes place in steel, with cold pre-maceration and overall maceration lasting 30 days. The wine then ages in 70% new barriques for 20-22 months, before being bottled.
