Tasting Notes

Straw yellow colour with light green reflections, offering a delicate elegant bouquet characterised by typical exotic hints of pineapple and mango. On the palate it is harmonious and balanced, pleasantly refreshing and relaxed. Pairings: excellent as an aperitif, it also combines well with light hot and cold starters, various types of pasta and lightly spiced white meat dishes. The winery is in Alto Adige where it is possible to find some of the most important cooperative wine makers not only in Italy but the whole world. Extremely solid concerns having a mission entirely dedicated to the absolute best in quality and which can offer wines unequalled in excellence. One of these is Colterenzio which holds a leading position. Founded in 1960 and now counting three hundred members, it has become one of the most important businesses in the area. We are in Cornaiano, a small town near to Appiano in the province of Bolzano. A place where nothing is left to chance, where electricity is produced locally and where its beautiful (and new) building is an example of sustainability for the entire national wine producing sector. A lovable winery.

Alto Adige Chardonnay DOC “Altkirch” 2017 - Colterenzio: Why we like it

It is with the classic line, which contains only wines produced with the typical grape varieties of Alto Adige, that Colterenzio expresses the character of its land in the clearest way. Chardonnay has in fact been cultivated in the province of Bolzano for more than a century. A refreshing, supple and satisfying white wine from the vineyards of Salorno and Bassa Atesina, fermented and left to age only in steel vats in order to retain its fragrance and spontaneity in the best tradition of this wine type. Alto Adige Chardonnay DOC “Altkirch” di Colterenzio is a full-flavoured white wine, excellent for a sharing with friends over a good dinner.
