Tasting Notes

This wine is characterised by scents of marasca cherry, raspberry and brushwood. You will also notice hints of almond paste and prune marmalade that lie against a spicy backdrop of cinnamon and clove. Whereas in the mouth, it is refreshing yet rich with an elegant blend of tannins that lend it a robust balance that makes for a great taste.

Pairing

This wine pairs especially well with game and red meats. We suggest you try it with a lovely cut of beef sautéed with mushrooms.

Alto Adige Pinot Nero DOC 2018 - Franz Haas (tappo stelvin): Why we like it

Franz Haas’ Pinot Noir grapes are the “greenest of the red grapes”, for although they are a red grape they boast certain qualities that remind us of a green one. In fact, the colour of this Pinot Noir wine can vary quite a bit depending on the year of harvest. The play of colours can make it more scarlet or more deep ruby red. However, colour aside, Franz Haas’ 2014 Pinot Noir DOC is without a doubt one of the best Pinot Noir wines across all of Italy; it is aged in barriques for one year before being aged once more after being bottled, making a truly refined and excellent wine.
