Tasting Notes

Garnet red with orangey highlights. The olfactory exam reveals a slight floral scent, with a more evident fruitiness reminiscent of red plums and raisins. Full and ripe on the palate, with just the right amount of tannin. It has a lingering persistence and this, too, is fruity.

Pairing

Ideal with structured meat dishes. Excellent with pheasant served with mushrooms

Barolo del Comune di Serralunga d'Alba DOCG 2012 - Paolo Manzone: Why we like it

Barolo Serralunga is made with grapes grown in the same cru as Barolo Meriame, but is a selection of grapes from younger vineyards. It ferments in temperature-controlled steel tanks, rests in French oak tonneaux for two years and ages in the bottle for 12 months. Paolo Manzone's Barolo DOCG “Serralunga” is austere and full-bodied, ideal for ageing.
