Friuli Venezia Giulia is a northern Italian region that has long been home to a wonderfully rich winemaking history. The region boasts a wide variety of indigenous varieties of grapes and is also particularly well-suited to the harvesting of international varieties. Today's selection features some of the region's best wines, including some lovely new gems we've recently added to our catalogue, starting with La Viarte wineries which has won us over for the elegance and neatness of its white wines, which perfectly represents the essence of Friuli. Try their "Liende" Sauvignon with its hints of tomato-plant leaf, citrus and yellow fruit— a wine that has also been awarded Gambero Rosso's distinguished "Tre Bicchieri" qualification. Today's selection is filled with many surprises, including special prices for wines such as Tenuta di Angoris' "Villa Locatelli" Pinot Bianco featuring complex aromas of pineapple, white peach and acacia blossom, perfect for accompanying meals of all kinds.
