Thus far, our tour of Italy has proven that every region has something incredible to offer, but Emilia-Romagna takes the cake when it comes to gastronomy. After all, its capital, Bologna, seat of the world’s oldest university, is known as the “Greasy City”. Lasagna, tortellini, tagliatelle, ragù, mortadella, balsamic vinegar, parmesan cheese, prosciutto, it all originates from this Italian mecca of good food. Pair any one of these delights with a classic Lambrusco, Pignoletto, Barbera, or a Sangiovese and you have a hit.
