Tasting Notes

Dark ruby red in colour, it has a bouquet which expresses all the typical characteristics of the finest Primitivo, thanks to notes of plums preserved in spirit, currant and blueberry jam, cloves and nutmeg. A trace of liquorice opens up to a warm and complex palate, potent, open and ethereal. It closes with a nicely acidic tail followed by a very persistent finish.

Pairing

Served with all courses of a meal, "Visiello" is a red wine that pairs well with rich and structured dishes, including pasta and rice. Excellent with lasagne.

Salento Primitivo IGT “Visellio” 2015 - Tenute Rubino: Why we like it

An authentic champion, "Visellio" is a very typical Primitivo, warm and complex, potent and characterised by great extractive strength. It is a wine which is vinified in steel and left to age for about eight months in French oak barriques. The result is a clearly Mediterranean Primitivo which, far from forgetting its origins, enhances all their individual features.
