Tasting Notes

In the glass it shows a bright gold color. The nose expresses complex aromas of white flowers and ripe fruit with yellow pulp, pulpy citrus fruits (pink grapefruit), with a delicate hint of honey. On the palate it’s rich and it immediately starts with good balance and elegance, evolving on fruity and slightly vegetal notes. The finish is long, leaving the mouth clean with citrus and mineral hints.

Pairing

Ideal with dishes with veal or chicken, as well as with fish and shellfish accompanied by slightly structured sauces and goat cheese.

Savennières Coulée de Serrant 2015 - Clos de la Coulée de Serrant: Why we like it

Coulée de Serrant is a 7-hectare vineyard owned as a monopoly by Nicolas Joly. The vines are aged 40 years on average, where the oldest are over 80 years old, facing South/South-East on a shale soil. The fermentation is spontaneous and carried out in used 500-liter barriques, while the refining takes place in oak barrels, during 6-8 months. Savennières Coulée de Serrant by Clos de la Coulée de Serrant boasts unprecedented vastness and aromatic complexity.
