Tasting Notes

This bright ruby red wine boasts fragrances of berries, cherry and violet, enriched with spicy undertones. In the mouth, you will find a full-bodied taste that features smooth, polished tannins and a long, persistent, fruity finish.

Pairing

This wine pairs wonderfully well with Italian pappardelle al ragù di cinghiale– or long, flat, wide egg pasta with wild-boar tomato sauce, game-based stews, roasts and braised red meats. It is a must try with aged Pecorino cheese from the town of Pienza.

Toscana Rosso IGT “La Massa” 2014 - La Massa: Why we like it

The Fattoria La Massa “La Massa” Tuscan Red IGT wine is produced in Chianti Classico wine country, where grapes are hand-picked from vines located in Tuscany’s Conca D’Oro or Golden Basin, in English, located some 360 meters in altitude on mineral-rich soil. The wine-making process undergoes an almost maniacal selection of only the best clusters of grapes from each variety, as well as a natural fermentation process. The wines are then aged in French oak barriques to highlight the particular vintage and characteristic taste and flavour imparted by the region.
