Tasting Notes

This intensely garnet-coloured red wine boasts fragrances of ripe berries, dark, bold spices, liquorice, tobacco and truffle. It is full-bodied yet supported by a bold blend of tannins. In the mouth it reveals a certain freshness mixed and full-flavoured quality with a long, balanced persistence.

Pairing

This wine pairs especially well with dishes featuring game, fowl or red meats. We suggest you try it with a stew of ground horse meat, or other lean red meats.

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG “Damo” 2009 - Montemercurio: Why we like it

Montemercurio’s “Damo” Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is an homage to their grandfather “Nonno Damo” who in the mid 20th-century planted the first vines that were used in the production of this wine. “Damo” is Montemercurio’s leading wine and is produced with a careful eye for every last detail.

Aged for at least two years in large Slavonian oak barrels, once bottled this wine rests for another year before being put on the market. It is a wine of wonderful sensory appeal that captures the beauty of the historic vines from which it is produced and the essence of the region from which it comes, that has always produced incredible wines.
