Camossi

The Camossi family has its roots in Franciacorta, always devoting themselves with passion to the cultivation of the land, the vineyards and the wine making. They used to be breeders and vine growers until the time of their grandfather Pietro Camossi, who converted the company to the production of wine in the early 90s, making their first Franciacorta in 1996. Starting from the 2002 harvest, the grandchildren of Pietro, Dario and Claudio joined the company. 2002 is also the year when Camossi met Nico Danesi, oenologist and technical figure of TerraUomoCielo. This is a project that unites various Franciacorta wineries, whose purpose is to safeguard the local agricultural heritage, which contributes to the creation of wines with a precise identity and communicates on their unique characteristics. The idea is to discover a wine that is the expression of the unique elements that make up the territory of Franciacorta. With the 2014 harvest, Camossi began to make wine according to the SoloUva Method. The method is based on a simple concept: grape is a fruit and as such should be harvested when ripe. In all stages of winemaking, the sugar produced by the grape itself is used in order to obtain a product that is the natural expression of the fruit, with no need to use other sugars such as sucrose. The Camossi winery owns 24 hectares located in 3 Franciacorta municipalities: Erbusco, where we find the winery and where most of the owned vineyards are located, Paratico, in the extreme west of Franciacorta, overlooking Lake Iseo, where you can find almost exclusively Pinot Noir, and Provaglio d'Iseo.
