Elisabetta Foradori

The Foradori winery was founded in 1939 in Mezzolombardo, near Trento. Elisabetta Foradori took over the reins of the company in 1984, after completing her studies at the wine school of S. Michele all'Adige. Driven by a strong passion and an unconditional love for her land, Elisabetta has set herself from the very beginning to recover what is one of the oldest autochthonous vine varieties in the area, the teroldego, trying to develop ways to enhance this grape, and therefore make it able to express the territory and its truest and most genuine character. This mission went hand in hand with the search for natural viticulture and led, through mass selection, to the recognition of 15 different biotypes of teroldego, the undisputed flagship grape of the Campo Rotaliano region. This way, Elisabetta obtained a grape with mineral, floral and spicy characteristics all together. Since 2002 agriculture has been totally converted to biodynamics. The hectares devoted to vines are about 28, they develop between the Campo Rotaliano and the hills of Cognola and are planted, as well as with teroldego, also with incrocio manzoni and nosiola, also native vines of Trentino.
The Foradori company is part of "I Dolomitici", a group of local winemakers united by the pioneering spirit of biodynamics, and since 2007 it’s also been a member of VinNatur, which brings together over 170 natural winemakers from 9 different countries.
