Francesco Cadinu

In the inland of Sardinia, the area of Mamoiada has seen cannonau vines grow on its land for centuries, and it’s undoubtedly one of the varieties that are a symbol not only of Mamoiada, but of the whole of Sardinia. We are in an area called Barbagia where the rows are spreaded at altitudes between 500 and 900 meters above sea level, but above all there is a unique microclimatic context, characterized by significant temperature variations between night and day, so the grapes that are harvested are always healthy and rich in sugar content thanks to the strong rays of the summer sun. On this stage, Francesco Cadinu's cellar plays its part with professionalism and passion. A winery that until a few years ago sold wine exclusively in bulk, except that he caught the attention of experts and wine connoisseurs, so he decided to start bottling its own production. With a total area that reaches five hectares of vineyards, the company sees its vineyards grow at an altitude between 650 and 800 meters above sea level, and above all it raises plants between its rows ranging from 90 to 130 years of age. Cultivated with love and unconditional dedication, the company's vineyards produce exceptional fruits, which in the cellar are transformed into the "Perdas Longas", currently the only label of the Cadinu winery, which however also has a small production of Moscato in the pipeline, as well as a reserve of old cannonau vineyards. It is in fact an oenological rarity, the company of Francesco Cadinu, capable of attracting the attention of the general public with an extraordinary product, which comes to prove itself strong, energetic and dynamic, warm and generous, enveloping and soft, intertwined by precious savory nuances: a fabulous Cannonau.
