Petra Belvento

Petra Belvento is located in Suvereto and is, foremost, a farm devoted to the respect of biodiversity.
At the head of the company there’s Francesca Moretti, and it was she, who strongly wanted the estate to keep intact its original “rustic” DNA; particular attention is also paid to the safeguarding of ancient breeds and varieties, such as Cinta Senese pigs and Montecristo goats.
Francesca was still a beginner when the first vineyards were planted on the farm; despite this, she decided, on the basis of what was already a clear vision, what to grow on the estate, favouring international varieties as well as Sangiovese and Vermentino.
From the very beginning, a strong protective instinct moved all those who are active in the company, from Francesca to the men who work in the vineyard and in the olive groves. The ultimate goal of all is to protect the balance of a natural system that requires respect and discernment, so as to be fully valued. Therefore, the work, from the vine to the cellar is always meticulous and hardly invasive, following an organic regime and trying to minimize the impact on the environment; in particular, the transformation of grapes into wine takes place without manipulation or forcing, using gravity, natural light and the energy provided by a floating photovoltaic system (which doesn’t take away land from agriculture).
Petra Belvento wines are inspired, on the one hand, by the maritime identity and wild nature where the estate stands, and on the other hand they express the multiplicity of soils and the vigilant and passionate approach of man.
