Luca di Tomaso

Luca is a young farmer. He had a great dream: practicing sustainable agriculture and producing quality wines. That dream has become reality in the magnificent region of Umbria: here, Luca works relentlessly on 4 hectares of vineyards and 3 hectares of olive groves. The winery is small, but with big goals; the main one is to work his land in a fully organic system, giving great importance to manual work, limiting the use of machines and avoiding the use of pesticides and chemical herbicides. Luca and his collaborators - the oenologist Simone Zucchetti and the agronomist Maurizio Segantini - never stop listening to the nature, its rhythms and its cycles. That way they’re able to preserve the character of the grapes and to obtain a true and authentic product, made out of a splendid terroir. The vineyard consists of 3 different plots, differentiated by altitude and sun exposure; here Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sagrantino are grown with love and passion and they all make wines capable of leaving a positive mark in the great wine history that has always characterized the Umbrian hills. As for the olive oil, Luca produces a blend of Muraiolo and Frantoio; this oil immediately reveals an incredible aroma and intense flavour palette. At the moment, in Luca's wine catalog we find: a Montefalco Rosso DOC, partly aged in oak barrels from the Barolo and Barbaresco area and partly in concrete tanks, for 18 months, so to become full-bodied, structured and long; a Rosso Umbria IGT which, after spending 6 months in barrique and steel, and resting for another year in bottle, it’s an excellent wine to be enjoyed on a daily basis; and lastly a Passito.
