Nicolas Joly, owner and vigneron of the Domaine, is a man of rare talent and exceptional human qualities. He represents an absolute icon of today's viticulture in France, thanks to his deep commitment and his revolutionary methods for the winemaking of Chenin Blanc in the Savennières appellation, Western Loire Valley. A pioneer of biodynamics, of which he has always been a strong supporter, he introduced the Steiner method in his vineyards, managing to create a unique wine with an unmistakable identity, which represents the adamantine expressiveness of the land and which is characterized from an aromatic profile of surprising vastness and exciting complexity. For 25 years he’s been spreading his ideas around the world and gathering followers and students from every corner of the Earth; in 2008 he founded the "Renaissance des Appellations" association, together with five other producers. He elaborates three labels, all 100% Chenin Blanc. "Coulée de Serrant", the crown jewel of the Domaine, which takes the name after the appellation and plot owned in monopoly; "Clos de la Bergerie" from the Savennières-Roche aux Moines appellation; "Les Vieux Clos" from the Savennières appellation.
