Tasting Notes

The garnet colour typical of Nebbiolo. Expressive bouquet featuring ripe red berries, plums and blueberry, with violets and hints of spices and tobacco. Compact, full profile. Well-structured tannins are evident in the mouth, developing consistently with an enveloping flavour and a decisive acid vein. Liquorice and cinnamon are evident in the finish.

Pairing

"Coste Rubin" Barbaresco is the perfect match for pasta with meat, vegetable and cheese sauces, starters and main courses featuring meat, such as Alba-style raw meat or grilled steak. Also excellent with mushroom risotto.

Barbaresco DOCG “Coste Rubin” 2013 - Fontanafredda: Why we like it

Fontanafredda's Barbaresco “Coste Rubin” is part of the "Fuoriclasse” collection. The vineyards are located in the municipalities of Treiso, Barbaresco and Neive, where they are exposed mainly south and southwest and are planted in marly, calcareous soils. Fontanafredda's Barbaresco DOCG “Coste Rubin” 2010 is vinified in steel tanks and then aged in barriques and large Allier oak barrels for about a year.
