Tasting Notes

It presents itself to the eye as a beautiful, elegant golden yellow. Equally elegant is the nose, marked by hints of star anise and verbena, together with hints of honey and vanilla. The taste is sweet and balanced at the same time, with a long persistence and a pleasant finish.

Château Coutet is located in the heart of the Barsac appellation, and enjoys a unique terroir, where the vines grow on predominantly clay-limestone soils, capable of producing wines that combine elegance and character, freshness and vivacity in the same glass. There is no denying this Barsac Grand Cru AOC 'Château Coutet'. An excellent Barsac, but if you want my advice, the suggestion is to forget about it for at least a decade in the cellar: once this period has passed, you will rediscover a simply extraordinary sip.
