Tasting Notes

There are countless aficionados of Château Carbonnieux, a domaine covering more than 100 hectares in the Pessac-Léognan appellation and one of the few classified in both white and red. With its south-facing vineyards, protected by the neighbouring Landes forest, and an authentic style, Carbonnieux is a safe harbour for those approaching the wines of this appellation. The blend, characterised by an important presence of sauvignon blanc (67%), yields a wine that is sincere and strongly expressive of this terroir. Floral, with notes of peach on the nose, it is savoury on the palate, with an acid skeleton that lends tension and freshness to this wine, well balanced on the centre-mouth by the roundness typical of sémillon. A classic that will make even the most sceptical fall in love.
