Organoleptic characteristics

Syrah, also known as Shiraz, has an intense, almost impenetrable dark red colour; the nose reveals spicy and cocoa aromas, while the palate has an imposing structure and a mentholated finish.

Where is Syrah produced in Italy?

In Italy, this grape has found particularly fertile ground in Sicily, Tuscany, the Cortona area, and Lazio.

In Sicily, it falls under the Sicilia DOC and Terre Siciliane appellations: here, the wines are structured and rich in fruit, producing some of the best reds on the island.

In Tuscany, the most interesting results are found in the Cortona DOC, which produces elegant and deep wines.

And in France?

In France, it is particularly widespread in the Rhône Valley and in the Languedoc, where it is used to produce Châteauneuf-du-Pape rouge.
