Our selection of Provençal rosés represents the excellence of a thousand-year-old winemaking tradition that originated in ancient Greece, when the first vines were planted in this region 2,600 years ago. Provence is not only the oldest wine-producing region in France, but has also established itself as the undisputed world capital of rosé wine, thanks to a unique terroir and microclimate that make these wines instantly recognizable for their elegant character, freshness, and inimitable color palette ranging from petal pink to peach.

The art of blending: grape varieties and winemaking techniques

The secret of Provençal rosés lies in the skillful art of blending and dedicated winemaking techniques. The rosés in our collection, such as those from Château d'Esclans, Miraval, and Minuty, are mainly made from blends of Grenache, Cinsault, and Syrah, with smaller proportions of Mourvèdre, Tibouren, and Rolle (Vermentino). Direct pressing or brief cold maceration allows the color to be gently extracted from the skins, while temperature-controlled vinification preserves the primary aromas of fresh fruit and flowers. Harvesting at dawn and rapid processing are key elements in ensuring the characteristic freshness and aromatic nuances that have made these wines famous throughout the world.

A kaleidoscope of flavors and gastronomic versatility

Provence rosés stand out for their extraordinary versatility at the table and their ability to express a wide range of flavor nuances. From the mineral delicacy of Côtes de Provence to the more sustained structure of Bandol, these wines offer a sensory range that spans from notes of citrus and fresh red fruits to more complex hints of Mediterranean herbs and spices. Their natural freshness and savoriness make them perfect for accompanying seafood appetizers, shellfish, grilled fish, as well as Asian and Mediterranean cuisine. Do not serve them too cold (the ideal temperature is between 8°C and 10°C) in order to fully appreciate the aromatic complexity hidden behind their pale and inviting color.
