Ornellaia

The Excellence of Bolgheri

Ornellaia represents one of the absolute pinnacles of contemporary Italian winemaking. Founded in 1981 by Marchese Lodovico Antinori in Bolgheri, on the hills overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, this legendary estate has redefined the quality standards of Tuscan wines. Its 115 hectares of vineyards enjoy a unique microclimate where the sea breeze mitigates summer temperatures, allowing for the ideal ripening of Bordeaux varieties—Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot—which find a Mediterranean expression of extraordinary complexity here.

Wine Art and Collecting

Ornellaia wine, the pride of the estate, is a masterpiece of balance and power, capable of extraordinary evolution. Alongside it shine Le Serre Nuove, a second wine of rare elegance, and Le Volte, which offers accessibility while maintaining the estate's unmistakable style. The “Vendemmia d'Artista” project, which since 2009 has involved international artists in the creation of special labels, underlines the deep connection between wine and art. Under the guidance of winemaker Axel Heinz, Ornellaia continues to represent the pinnacle of “Super Tuscan” wines, which have conquered world markets with a distinctive style that combines Mediterranean concentration and Bordeaux refinement.
